I am looking for feedback on what period of time is given for notifying tenants of an upcoming routine inspection (Victorian law). There are two schools of thought that say the Victorian Residential Tenancies Act limits you from a min 24 hours notice to no more than 7 days (plus 3 days postage) and the other interpretation of the Act that says you are not limited in the notice period, it just has to be more the 24 hours written notice. I personally feel that tenants should get 2-3 weeks notice to prepare a property/gardens for best presentation should they wish to and notice of under 7 (10 days) is not acceptable. When calling Consumer Affairs you get differing opinions on the Act and I am looking for feedback on what other agents do. Thanks
