Just wondering what works best for other PM's; to spend 1 whole day a week getting as many routine inspections done as possible or spreading them out and just doing 3 or so a day over 5 days ??

Our asset managers schedule their inspections twice a week and they try to group thesein street, and areas. Depending on their weekly timetable they would generally do it blocks of 2 hours in the morning one day andt hen another in the afternoon/ evening. It allows them time in the office to do everyday tasks and also to follow up their reporting and maintenance that may arise from their inspections. I find doing too many inspections will only bog them down with extra work for the next week and the little things slip.

I have to agree it is much better breaking the inspections up into smaller groups spread out over a few days rather than spending one day doing many. I find it keeps doing the reports manageable as well as your other daily tasks.
